On Saturday, Sept. 4th, BlueMoon Comics and Man Or Monster Studios will hold the 1st annual Lafayette Popculture Expo (LEXPO for short).
The show will run from 10am to 6pm. Admission will be $5 at the door for all person 12 and up, $3 by PayPal.
We are planning many events for the show: Costume Contests, Gaming Tables, Independent Movie Screening, Live Professional Wrestling, there will be many more special events to come and I will post them as we confirm.
We are also in the process of scheduling some very special guests: Gary Friedrich - Creator of Ghost Rider, Troy Hickman - Comic Book Writer (Common Grounds, Witchblade), Marc Racop - Independent Movie Maker and Batmobile Builder, New Generation Wrestling Superstars, BMF Wrestling Alliance Superstars, The Lafayette Brawlin' Dolls - RollerDerby Queens. We are also working to secure more guests. If you have any ideas or suggestions on guests, send email to joe@bluemooncomics.net.
For you that are interested in setting up at the show we have the following price options.
1) Booth - w/ 6' table, 2 chairs, and 2 passes --- $55
2) Artist Alley Table - 6' table, 2 chairs, and 2 passes --- $40
3) Share a Table - 4' of table space from an 8' table, 1 chair, and 1 pass --- $25
4) Screen your movie - $20
5) Extra Booth - $50
Extra Tables - $10 ea.
Extra Chairs - $3 ea.
Extra Passes - $3 ea
Please Note: 1)Booths can be set up as dealer sees fit, you may bring and use you own tables, stands, or displays. 2)All dealers, their workers or guests must have a pass. 3)Electricity is provided on site and at no cost, but dealer must bring a extension cord of sufficient length. 4)Artist alley tables are for the artist to feature and sell his original art only. This includes comics drawn by artist; comics written by artist; paintings or drawing by artist; figures, statues, or busts by artists. In other words, if you want to sell your back collection of comics and such then you need to get a booth also or instead of. 5)Share tables are for the dealer who only has a very small amount of book and such to sell. 6) Final booth size will by determined by August 30th, this will depend on the final number of dealers attending. Booth space will be no smaller than 8' X 8'. 7) Movie screening will be a set amount of time to show clips of movie and take questions. Total time is not set a present time, we will wait to see number of film makers interested.

Also to help pay for the con we are going to run 3 seperate raffles.
1st Raffle-- A CGC graded 6.0 HOUSE OF SECRETS #92. 1st appearance of Swamp Thing. Valued at over $300
2nd Raffle-- A CGC graded 9.8 CIVIL WAR #6. Signed by series artist Steve McNiven.
3rd Raffle-- A $100 dollar gift certificate to BlueMoon Comics or anyother store at the show.
Please help us make this convention a reality by buying tickets, either online or in the store. Each ticket is $1.00, you can buy as many tickets as you want, just make sure you pay in multiples of $1.00. Make sure your name, address, and contact info is listed. I will mail you the other half of your tickets.ANYBODY WHO WISHES TO GET A BOOTH AT THE SHOW CAN GET ONE FREE IF THEY SELL $150 WORTH OF RAFFLE TICKETS. THIS INCLUDES RETAILERS/VENDORS, ARTISTS, OR ANYBODY WISHING TO SELL OR DISPLAY THEIR WORK.
